Lightning In a Bottle

With the 19th annual Lightning In a Bottle arts & music festival coming around this memorial day weekend May 23rd-28th, there’s going to be nothing short of surprises for everyone this year. Taking place at its new home at the San Antonio Reservoir, where festival goers had been going nuts over last year, let’s hope we get a repeat this year. With an amazing festival like this you’re sure to understand the hype with big names like Bassnectar, Odesza, Chet Faker, The Polish Ambassador, and bonobo to have had bless the lineup in past years. I can only imagine the kind of talent that will be coming to the festival this year. With so many different genres to play with I’m excited to see what The Do LaB will put together. Especially after the previous years of all being mind blowing lineups. By far most excited to see what the Woogie stage will look like this year and what different stages and workshops will be put together as well. This festival isn’t your normal music festival, thats because its so much more than that. The owners being LA-based artist collective called The DO LaB. It’s no coincidence that “art” comes before “music” in the “arts & music festival”. While the big lineup every year brings in all types of attendees. The owners like to pride themselves in the “art” aspect of the festival. This festival simply has some of the best art installations, paintings and sculptors I’ve ever seen at a festival. The owners hoping that festival goers are so immersed in the art it continues to bring them back. the amount of interactive art installations to live workshops like the newest edition brought in last year “The Compass” which is a full playground of workshops and classes that your soul will evidently fall in love and get lost for hours on end. Families, and long time festival goers always come back to LIB to experience what is among the most engaging, socially conscious, and interactive music festival on the planet. This festival has been a dream of mine ever since I first heard of music festivals I’ve been in love with this one. Why? Well let’s put it this way, the word “transformational” is thrown around a lot these days, but here there is no irony, sarcasm, or bad thoughts or vibes; Lightning In a Bottle is a life affirming endeavor that can fundamentally change somebody, if they’re willing to and able to surrender to the flow. I’ll leave you with this, they say Lightning In a Bottle is not merely just another music festival, but so much more than that. It’s an unparalleled gathering where people of all walks of life come together to experience an open-minded community, with a concept for living a brighter tomorrow. Quite simply the LIB Thrive Guide says it best “Lead by example. Pack it in and Pack it Out. Honor the land. Respect others and there journey. Practice good citizenship. own your actions. Go above and beyond.”
